Fox News highlighted CEC’s joint amicus brief before the U.S. Supreme Court in Republican National Committee v. Mi Familia Vota (No. 25-1017) with partners Honest Elections Project and Restoring Trust and Integrity in Elections (RITE), reporting on the election integrity organizations’ efforts to defend Arizona’s authority to require proof of citizenship for voter registration and remove improperly registered noncitizens from its voter rolls.
Fox News emphasized the brief’s argument that states have constitutional authority to establish and enforce voter qualifications and should not be required to maintain registrations belonging to individuals who were never eligible to vote.
The article also highlighted CEC Executive Director Lisa Dixon’s statement on the filing of the brief: “American elections are for American citizens only. Period.” Dixon emphasized that Arizona should be able to prevent noncitizens from registering and to remove noncitizens who nevertheless appear on the voter rolls.
CEC and its partners continue to urge the Supreme Court to reverse the Ninth Circuit to ensure American elections are for American citizens only.
